Starting point for a wonderful circular hike. The boats were on dry land in the small natural harbor basin, some beautiful bathing bays and many campsites on the cliffs. We only saw the cathedral and the remains of the bishop's palace from the outside. Went further to the coast, there were some surfers and swimmers in the touristy bay of Whitesands.

Many venerable, impressive colleges, some can only be visited with a guided tour, some with admission. Lots of young, international people and an unusually large number of bicycles. The city is worth seeing even without visiting the collage. Found something to feast on in a small snack bar and went home.

Canterbury, Park and Ride

quick and problem-free journey on the motorway. Found a good parking space and took the bus into the city. Very busy, lots of young people and a wonderful, colorful cityscape. We strolled around a lot, the cathedral was only open for a fee and we were already fed up with churches and cathedrals, but the outside view was also satisfactory. We strolled through the city and enjoyed the atmosphere and the food at Weatherspoon. A great city

Margate

When leaving Canterbury there was a lot of traffic jam, then mostly populated area, lots of villages. Good parking space on the promenade. Both the promenade, the long sandy beach and the city itself seem a bit shabby and run down. Nice weatherspoon on the promenade with a good view of the bay. Tour through the center, that looks a little nicer.

Dover, NT Parkpl.

Unspectacular drive, parking at National Trust. Another hike along the cliffs, but the view wasn't as breathtaking, it was also warm. A short rest at the car and then we drove into town. One last visit to the Weatherspoon and off to bed.

Le Cateau-Cambrésis

In the morning there was extremely heavy fog, everything went well with the ferry and at 6:15 we were already in Calais, unpleasant driving as visibility was zero due to the fog. It only got better a little way from the coast. We drove along country roads, beautiful scenery and nice villages. We took a break in Le Cateau, wanted to buy a baguette but the bakery was closed, a man gave us a salad. Snack in the car

Charleville-Mézières

a pleasant, entertaining ride for the passenger. Found a quiet, central parking lot, Jacob took a break, I went for a walk. A pretty place on the Meuse. I went for a walk in the large park by the river and then we took a walk into the center. Incredibly beautiful main square with many well-attended bars. The pedestrian zone was already very quiet at this time. I enjoyed a relaxed, good glass of wine in the picturesque main square.

Ettenheim

Jacob got fresh rolls from the bakery and then we set off. A bit of a long journey, but pleasant and beautiful. Another good spot, unfortunately a bit noisy in the evening, but quiet at night. I visited the small, pretty town with the beautiful half-timbered houses, pleasant path along the stream. Bought myself an ice cream, visited the baroque church and picked up Jacob. We wanted to eat a pizza, but unfortunately everything was occupied, so we drank a beer at the place.

Bayrischzell

Jacob got fresh pastries for breakfast and after filling up with gas and shopping we set off. Beautiful landscape, there was a lot going on near Schliersee, it was Saturday and there was no parking space to be found, we drove to Bayrischzell. Fine parking lot between the indoor swimming pool and playground. A short walk and an overpaid drink on a terrace.
