SLOVENIA: previously only used for transit. I think the country might have more to offer than just serving as a transit.
I ordered and (partially) read 2 books about Slovenia, and lo and behold: there are a lot of interesting things to look at.
Some impressions of other travelers used, and now it should start via Hallein in Austria to Slovenia.
I only booked one CP, we do the rest as always depending on location and weather.
On the booked CP "Plana and Bar 66" the operators (a German and her husband Slovenian) will be able to give us lots of tips.

A very green, pleasant CP with clean sanitary facilities. Bread service and hotel (breakfast) can be booked.
Directly in front of the CP there is a bus stop to Salzburg, which we gladly used to see Salzburg.
So we stay here for 2 nights.

A very pleasant city worth seeing! It was Whit Monday, so the shops were closed, but that's exactly why the stroll through the city was very relaxed!

In itself a beautiful, spacious, green CP in the middle of nature. Clean sanitary facilities, however, as on almost all CPs, the showers are fixed at a relatively high level. This is a problem for the ladies with showering "without hair"!
Furthermore, there were a variety of freely selectable pitches, not subdivided, but there were no power connections. Whole 3 pieces on the entire lower area. Just too little.
No water connections at all, you had to get them in the sanitary building, but it wasn't a problem for us.
My biggest problem, however, was the noise from the vehicles on the adjacent road and, even worse, the permanently operating railway line in the visible distance. For me the night was over at 4 o'clock! I then bought earplugs, it was better but can't be the solution.
In the restaurant on the square, which is nicely furnished (rustic wood), there is a bar as well as good dishes.
In my opinion, however, a bit too expensive, both the restaurant and the CP.
Since summer vacation is planned (and the weather is great in Germany!), we spontaneously decided to go to Istria and enjoy the sea there.

The pitches are mostly gravel, very well paved (you can't get a peg in the ground) and are well laid out. We booked standard, enough for us. Is a bit higher because everything is terraced.
The CP is located on the Limski Fjord, which is also interesting.

Unfortunately, we weren't able to marvel at the beautiful sunset once, because a thick strip of clouds over the horizon (towards Italy it was crappy weather!) disturbed the touchdown of the sun.🥺

The entire facility is very well maintained, as are the sanitary facilities.
A rustic restaurant with simple but tasty dishes completes the whole thing.
A large children's playground with play equipment suitable for all ages is right next to the restaurant.
There is also a small market, of course with a bread roll service.
All in all, highly recommended!

Really sorry to read about bad traffic and weather experiences in Slovenia. Hopefully next time you will be more lucky…. Of course by traveling on regional road and also visiting Nord East part of country.🤗
