We say goodbye and move on to our next destination.
Today we are meeting with some other members of our club to clear the Venner Moor on Saturday.
Opportunity for a cozy preparation evening with club friends.
De-bushing a moor? What is that?
Under professional supervision, we clear the moor of unwanted trees so that the water stays in the moor.

We meet with representatives of the Biological Station and Terra Vita, get some explanations and tools and spit in our hands.
A lot of regrowing trees (mainly birch trees) have to be removed, as they undesirably remove water from the moor.
There's no chance we'll manage the area alone that day, but we've managed to clear a decent chunk.
To support the further work, we presented a donation check before returning to the overnight camp.
The evening ended with a delicious buffet in the restaurant next to the square, with pleasant conversations and a beer.

Very nice, paved pitches on a small area between the bathroom and the car park for €15 per night. Supply and disposal as well as electricity up to 1500 watts for a small fee.
You can hear operating noises from the swimming pool technology, but that doesn't bother us.

It is 3 km from the parking space at Nettebad to the city center.
A lovely walk in glorious weather. It goes through residential areas, past a train station, into the beautiful old town and through the many pedestrian zones.
Osnabrück has a number of historic buildings and churches worth seeing. One of them has a model of the city's boundaries in the 17th century on display.
We liked it very much.
A delicious dinner at the Rampendahl brewery was a worthwhile way to end the day before heading back home. We recommend making a reservation here. It is very popular.

Monday is ladies' sauna day, so we don't get to visit.
We picked out a 40 km cycle route through the old town and out into the countryside on Komoot and will complete the route after the sun has warmed the air a bit.
Out towards Lotte and the Steinfurt district. Partly a very beautiful route with a view of the Teutoburg Forest. Then through the old town and a few purchases back to the parking space. Can be done easily with e-bikes. Without electricity you need good bikes and sometimes muscles. There are a few long climbs.

Loma sauna in the Nettebad Osnabrück.
We didn't know that yet.
The parking space costs 15€ per night.
At least you get a €5 discount on the entrance fee for the sauna day. Since we stayed for three nights, we both got the discount.
Plus a 2€ diversion discount, as the pool can currently only be accessed from one side due to construction work.
For the remaining 23 euros, this was an inexpensive pleasure.
A good selection of saunas, well-maintained and clean facilities. There were also very few visitors.
A very relaxing day visit.

After breakfast we continue.
After a few purchases, we decide to visit the Osnabrück Industrial Museum.
This fits in perfectly with the persistent fog forecast for today.
Before we visited the interesting museum, we went on a 10 km hike.
Take the circular hiking trail up to Piesberg, down to the Sequoia and back again on the circular trail.
Unfortunately, because of the fog, we couldn't enjoy the magnificent view that you would normally enjoy from the lookout point. It's a shame, because we had to fight hard to reach the summit at a height of over 180 meters with several climbs and even more steps.
Overall a great destination.

For the next two nights we go to the motorhome port next to the campsite.
If you arrive around 6:20 p.m., the reception is closed. However, everything can be done at one of two machines.
17€ per night, instead of 25€ at the campsite.
The place initially makes a luxurious impression. Let's see what it looks like when the lights are switched on again...

We are not far from the meeting point for the tree planting event this weekend.
The second day in a row with foggy, cloudy and cold weather.
We spent the day hiking around the Alfsee with a shopping stop in Alfhausen. The lake is a bird sanctuary and is well received by the clientele ;)
After coffee, we took a short walk to Rieste to do a few more shopping trips. The cargo space is limited on foot. We did manage to cover a good 20 km today.
The day is over. The area is ideal for long walks and certainly also bike rides.
Sauna is available directly on site. Escape room, go-karting, ...
In summer there are even more activities on offer here. Water skiing and swimming lake, for example.
A family campsite with every luxury imaginable. There are still a few campers here. Of course, there aren't many children.

A parking space next to the clubhouse without sanitary facilities, but supply and disposal as well as electricity via coin systems.
It's quite nice to stand here.
The participants of our event tomorrow all arrived in the afternoon. The day ends with a small snack, a barrel of beer, herbal liqueur from the local monastery and warming punch. New acquaintances and pleasant conversations included.

It continues about 15 km to the meeting with the forester.
We wanted to plant 1000 copper beeches between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Thanks to the perfect soil, this was done so quickly that the forester brought in another 500 trees, which we already had in the ground by 3:00 p.m. Another small contribution to climate protection.
Afterwards, there is a reserved table for the 12 participants in the restaurant to end the day in style.
Hotel-Restaurant Zum Heidekrug served us a delicious meal a la carte. Slightly expensive, but very tasty with extremely friendly staff.

After breakfast we met a tour guide for a tour.
That was entertaining and informative.
As a souvenir, we bought a monastery liqueur, the quality of which we had already been able to convince ourselves of the evening before.
Then dispose of the waste and return comfortably home.

Back home.
It was a nice round with many impressions and great encounters.
...and in doing so we have contributed a little to the future of our planet.
In about 100 years we will be able to see what stately trees our 1500 planted copper beeches have become ;)

We're postponing the final work on our ELMO until tomorrow. A small technical upgrade with a standby charger pro is also scheduled for this week.
Today it's time to chill out.
In just 10 days, ELMO will be taking us to the next tree planting event in the Düren district.

Moor entkusseln?

Parking space at the shooting club in Hemke city park. Let's see how good we like it...

Thank you to any readers for your interest
